Picture a Scientist: the Movie

To some extent, the reasons many women stop pursuing their university degree or post-graduate studies are discrimination and sexual harassment they encounter in their field. Those actions do not just harm women, but also the companies and institutions they work for. Since laws have always protected women, our job as individuals and society is to pursue and encourage women not to let their stories go without punishing the harasser and the sexual abuser.

"Picture a Scientist" is a documentary film, released in October 2020, pictures Jane Willenbring, Nancy Hopkins, and Raychelle Burks as scientific women holding a Ph.D. telling the story about their own experience and how they have been subject to race, color discrimination, along with sexual abuse in their workplace. They explain their reaction towards it and the way they not only succeeded in fighting it, but also shed lights for the inequality between men and women in terms of competency, hierarchy, mentorship, and salary.
